Thank you for stumbling across my page. I am certainly not one to indulge in talking about my self loads and loads and give you useless facts about my life such as what shampoo I use. So I will tell you the basics.
I go by the name of Maria Blackstone (If you hadn't figured this out already) and was born in December 1992 making me 19 years old. I come from and grew up in Surrey with one sister, Laura and my two parents Sarah and Paul. I love them all to pieces (obviously) even though at times it may seem like a completely different story. That's family. It's normal.
I have finished my A Levels, and am currently studying an Art Foundation at Reigate. I love it there. I can spend 4 days a week doing what I love ALL day. That is what I really love. Three letters. Art. I have always been part of a creative background with a creative family doing all sorts. My mum makes curtains for a living; and my dad is extremely technical. My family goes way back with the creative side of things. However, it was me that magically got a little bit of everything.
I studied fine art at both GCSE and A Level, where I was taught by Mr. Lloyd. Who personally; I have to thank for the reason why I love art as much as I do. For that I am extremely grateful. I knew I wanted to carry on with art after my A Levels. There was no other option or competition for me. So I applied for an Art Foundation before going to University. As to be honest; I hadn't the foggiest idea what or where I wanted to study. After horrendous form-filling, heavy portfolios, interviews and tears. I ended up at East Surrey College (Reigate Art School) Not intentionally my first choice, in any way; but I like to look at life with a positive attitude and that things are meant to be and happen for a reason.
I have specialised in photography as I took part in a studio experience quite some years ago, and this is where my love of photography grew and began. I was simply fascinated by the studio space and highly advanced equipment that was being used but also by unusual fun experience that I, my family and the photographer was involved within. As well as this interest; I love to bake. I try and do it as much as possible, as I usually crave cake every two or three days. It's ridiculous. My mum was always an incredible cook and baker, and made every single one of my sister's and my birthday cakes to date. I have constantly been surrounded by cookery books and magazines and this is where my passion for both cooking/baking and photography have come from. I have considered for a while committing to baking, and giving other people the satisfaction you get when you bite into a slice of cake. So the time has officially come. Why not?
Thank you once again for taking the time to look at little old me and my website!
Lots of Love. Maria xo
